Cappie’s Scoop: Tasty crunchy leaves or playing in the snow, I’ll take it! Fall and winter are my two favorite times to hike here. It was also a surprise when mom told me the trail goes to a summit of 6,223 ft and is the highest wooded point on Laguna Mountain. In the fall, there are crunchy leaves on the California Black Oaks and lots of Jeffrey Pines on the trail. YES, I know my trees especially because if you smell a Jeffrey Pine, you might smell cinnamon, coconut, butterscotch or vanilla! I smell yummy tree bark I’d like to crunch on. In the winter (and if the road is clear and safe), I like to hike in the snow. Sometimes mom throws a snowball at me to catch. I’m much better at catching snowballs than tennis balls! Don’t hesitate to add YOUR scoop in the comments below!
Tips: This is also a great short hike to do in the fall when leaves are changing and also in the winter when the roads are clear.
