Cappie’s Scoop: Ok furiends here’s the truth about this adventure. Sitting in a raft while you watch sticks go by is hard! All I wanted to do was jump in a million times and follow mom down the river while she’s in the raft and I’m swimming. Luckily we finally found a spot, pulled over and I jumped into the water and found a stick. Now I’m feeling like a happy pup! That was a lot of fun. But eventually we got back in the raft and kept going along. It was fun and of course mom did all the work paddling so I just hung out. I did get to ride a shuttle bus so that was cool! There is so much more room on a shuttle bus than in our car. Mom should get one of those for us! Don’t hesitate to add YOUR scoop in the comments below!
Tips: They make it very easy for you! You park at their big lot and take a shuttle to the launch area. Yes, dogs are even allowed to ride the shuttle too! Once you finish, you hop the shuttle back to your car. Easy! It’s a very leisurely, self-guided, five-mile float down the Truckee River. It can take 2-3 hours, depending on your pace and number of stops. The best part here is taking your time! There are multiple places to pull over, get out and swim a bit with your pup. Cappie even found a stick in water, of course! Pack some snacks and beverages in a cooler for your time rafting too.
