Cappie’s Scoop: This is a big lake! We paddled around and mom hugged the shore line a bit. We saw the nice houses along the side and I picked one out where I’d live! Close to the water so I could swim whenever I want. We paddled across the lake and it was nice and relaxing. Then the wind started to pick up and so we headed back to shore. What a fun day! But I didn’t get to jump in the water. Boooo! Don’t hesitate to add YOUR scoop in the comments below!
Tips: We went during the week so it was less busy. The road to the launch point is a bit narrow and tight so I can only imagine how slow you might need to drive during a high traffic day or weekend. The lake is about 3 miles long and 1 mile wide.
Directions: Can use coordinates to the parking lot or address to the Fallen Leaf Marina, 400 Fallen Leaf Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Once you arrive at the marina, you can park on a side road in front of the general store & café. There is no fee to launch your board here. Be sure to check the weather and especially the wind. It tends to get windy as the day goes on.
